CXL Institute Growth Marketing Minidegree | Week 12 | REVIEW

Image
Welcome back one more week to this blog where I take you to my journey through the   CXL Growth Marketing Minidegree . I am participating in the CXL Institute Scholarship Program, and I’m going through the Growth Marketing Minidegree. I'm posting a new article about what I've learned every week. This is part 12/12. In this week's review I'd like to talk about two concepts that are coming up repeatedly in almost every course on CXL:  Research Awareness These two concepts are fundamental to any marketing strategy — not just growth marketing. Research and awareness are also two of the most recurring topics in almost every course and across all tracks in the Growth Marketing Mini Degree. Why? Research is important because you need to know who your customers are. You need to know their goals, objections and questions at every step of their customers journey.   Awareness means knowing where on the awareness scale your audience is when you start communi...

Welcome back one more week to this blog where I take you to my journey through the   CXL Growth Marketing Minidegree . I'd like to start this week's post by sharing some thoughts about how to keep going when motivation is low, and what you could do about it.  The psychology behind why we start Starting a new project is like falling in love.  We're excited, intrigued, and aroused — we might even become slightly obsessed with this new activity or project.  You know what I'm talking about… A new idea.  A new concept.  A new chance.  We don't give much thought about potential obstacles or challenges we might face down the road. But before you even know it, you're in too deep.  The work is harder than expected.  It wasn't as easy as you first thought.  It might take longer to complete than you thought.  If you've ever read a book or heard a talk from Seth Godin, you know what I mean when I say "The Dip".  Whether...

Welcome back one more week to this blog where I take you to my journey through the   CXL Growth Marketing Minidegree . This week I’ve completed the course about Attribution, Excel and am in the middle of Michael Aagaard’s landing page optimization course.  Let’s start by reviewing the course content: Attribution Attribution is about understanding your customer, and trying to understand which activity or step in the funnel is most influential to your customer.  For as long as I have been interested in marketing, attribution has always been fiercely discussed — in forums, in the comments on various social media networks, and on the stage of almost every marketing conference.  Attribution is an evergreen topic that can be discussed infinitely, because there is NO one solution that works for every company.  Imagine this:  Someone in your target audience goes to Google and searches for "running shoes".  In the search results, they see y...

Welcome back one more week to this blog where I take you to my journey through the   CXL Growth Marketing Minidegree . This week I covered Facebook Ads, Content Strategy and I am midway through the Retention module. So let’s dive straight into the learnings, starting with  Facebook  Ads. Facebook Ads The   Facebook  Ads platform has tremendous opportunity when you know how to use it correctly. It’s important when you get started that you don't get overwhelmed with all the metrics that are available within the account. At the end of the day, we want this to be a business-level impact for you. So, your ROI , your profit, your profit margin, and also the volume of sales that you're able to do are the most important. After that comes basically the cost per conversion, the conversion volume, the return on ad spend. And then below that are all the other micro-metrics like, click-through rate, quality score, impressions share, and things like that. ...

Welcome back one more week to this blog where I take you to my journey through the   CXL Growth Marketing Minidegree . I've always believed that fundamentals and principles are more important than any given strategy or tactic.  There are 100 ways to explain how a sales funnel work. There are 100 ways to visualize how marketing works. There are 100 ways to drive your audience through a funnel.  One particular strategy or channel is not necessarily better than others — every channel works differently.  And that is exactly what you’ll learn by completing the CXL Growth Marketing Mini Degree. Look: Facebook ads will give you greater insight, control, and costs less compared to print ads or TV commercials.  But, if 70-80% of your audience reads newspapers (and not blogs or social media) to stay updated, you'll want your company to appear in those publications.  And in Sweden, if you're interested in investing or the stock market, you're likely to spend mo...

Welcome back one more week to this blog where I take you to my journey through the   CXL Growth Marketing Minidegree . Wow! I can't believe it's eight weeks already. It has been an amazing ride so far; I've learned and still learning more about growth marketing. This week, I was privileged to learn about "Understanding the landing page experience." It was an interesting topic, as I know about the various techniques of optimizing a landing page. Sit tight, as I take you through my key takeaways. A landing page is the entrance page or the page that users see after clicking on an ad on Facebook or Google . The landing page is also a page that works independently of the website or app, and it's usually focused on a clear conversion goal. Having multiple elements or goals on a landing page only distracts the users; to get an impressive result, the landing page needs to be focused on a single goal. There are several characteristics of an effective landing page. Th...
